Carbon Emissions Impacting Colorado River Climate

The annual Upper Colorado River Basin Water Forum was held last week at Colorado Mesa University.

Brad Udall provided the keynote address.

The UCR basin provides water to over 40 million people in 7 States and Mexico as well as food supplies sent worldwide and many other benefits.

His key points included:

Climate Change is already impacting the Basin!

Impacts will get worse including increasing arid conditions that are more severe than droughts!

Plan on hotter weather, shifting runoff, less water flow, increased floods, and more wildfires!

There is an urgent need now to change and quickly adopt carbon free technologies!
